PRACTICE DESCRIPTION
Mr. Thames' practice is devoted to complex litigation and appeals. He began his career as a law clerk to a Federal District Judge in the Eastern District of Texas. Since completing that clerkship in 1994, Mr. Thames has focused on federal court litigation in the Eastern District of Texas and the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. As a result, he regularly represents parties in patent infringement cases, class actions, antitrust cases, oil and gas cases, product liability cases, and other major litigation. Over his career, Mr. Thames has gained significant courtroom experience including serving as first or second chair in numerous trials, lead counsel on brief and at oral argument in dozens of appeals, and arguing literally hundreds of motions and other matters before the bench.
